Extract from Colin’s Story; “This is a drawing of me in a tin bath in front of the coal fire in the front room. We didn’t have a bathroom then. My mum had to get the hot water from the kitchen. We had an old fashioned tin bath. She filled up the tin bath with a bucket. She hung towels over the fire place to warm them. I’d get in the bath and my mum would wash me with a flannel and Palmolive soap. Then she’d rinse me off with a jug of water and I’d get out of the bath on to a towel and put my pyjamas on.”
